Review: Sonny Boy by Annejet van der Zijl.

Another (and the last book) I had to read for dutch this year. I finished reading this the day before the exam.

This story is a love story set from 1929 to 1945 so it includes The World War 2.
Its about a dutch woman. That gets in an affair with a Dark Skinned guy from Suriname that immigrates to The Netherlands. They go through a lot of rough stuff due to their affair and the woman , Rika, gets hated by her family because of leaving her children behind.

Overall I hated how the author had to write HUGE information dumps about everything that is happening WORLDWIDE. It was totally unnecessary! Then the author was always talking about a lot before getting to the point.

I didn't like the book so much I really loved the love story. Hated the ending.

I dont really recommend it.
