On my shelf #5

Jonas's world is perfect. Everything is under control. There is no war or fear or pain. There are no choices. Every person is assigned a role in the Community. When Jonas turns twelve, he is singled out to receive special training from The Giver. The Giver alone holds the memories of the true pain and pleasure of life. Now, it is time for Jonas to receive the truth. There is no turning back.

Yes guys The Giver! I got this book some weeks before the movie release because I really wanted to read it and then watch the movie but school had me so busy and then the plan was to watch the premiere first.

Turns out that we ended up watching 'Lets be cops' instead and I decided to read this book sometime in October's holidays and right after I will read if I stay.

  1. I haven't read this book, either, but recently saw the movie. I really should have read the book first, but, well, now I know what the plot deals with. I've heard that there are differences between the book and the movie, but I won't give any spoilers.

I think the plot is excellent social commentary! Hope you get to the book soon! : )

And yeah I am not so sure what it's about yet. Not the movie or the book. But I heard its good and I love going into a book knowing nothing about it.
