City of Fallen Angels by Cassandra Clare [Review]

Synopsis:

The Mortal War is over, and sixteen-year-old Clary Fray is back home in New York, excited about all the possibilities before her. She’s training to become a Shadowhunter and to use her unique power. Her mother is getting married to the love of her life. Downworlders and Shadowhunters are at peace at last. And—most importantly of all—she can finally call Jace her boyfriend.

But nothing comes without a price.

Someone is murdering Shadowhunters, provoking tensions between Downworlders and Shadowhunters that could lead to a second, bloody war. Clary’s best friend, Simon, can’t help her—his mother just found out that he’s a vampire, and now he’s homeless. When Jace begins to pull away from her without explaining why, Clary is forced to delve into the heart of a mystery whose solution reveals her worst nightmare: she herself has set in motion a terrible chain of events that could lead to her losing everything she loves. Even Jace.

Review:
The plot of this fourth book in The Mortal Instruments series, started in my opinion a bit slow for me and i did have a bit of problems trying to get into the story in the beginning. it didn't seem like much was happening and there was a lack of my favorite characters in the book in that part. Later on it became much more interesting and gripping, action packed as any other TMI book and it went on great and amazing.

This time the writing is more centered around Simon, which i loved! because it doesn't always have to be about Clary and Jace can't it?

We get introduced to some new "badass", butt-kicking and cool characters, which i instantly loved! Even the evil ones! In the beginning my two favorite ones weren't there though, but it was still great seeing them later on in the story.

Some love started to bloom somewhere, i can't spoil but i can just say I'm so happy with it!

If you haven't finished this series like me, what are you waiting for? pick it up!

I gave this book ★★★★ on Goodreads.

  1. I agree with you! This book was actually supposed to be a Simon short story, which is why it's mostly about Simon. but I'm so glad Cassandra Clare made it into a full book! Great review! :)
